Bridget Jones's Baby: Still relatable AF!
Okay, so I finally got around to watching 'Bridget Jones's Baby' (I know, I'm late to the party!). And honestly? I loved it! It's been ages since I saw the first two, but this one just felt... comfy? Like catching up with an old friend, even though my life is NOTHING like hers, lol. They really nailed something about being a woman in your 40s and still feeling like you haven't quite got your life together. The whole 'who's the daddy' thing was ridiculously funny, especially Colin Firth and Patrick Dempsey's competitive dad-to-be faces. That scene in the hospital where they were both trying to help with the baby? Gold. Pure gold. I'm not gonna lie, it's not high art or anything. It's predictable, cheesy, and Helen Fielding's probably rolling in money from this franchise. But sometimes that's exactly what you need, right? And Renee Zellweger is just so darn charming as Bridget. She really sells the awkwardness in a way that feels genuine even if some scenarios are bit far-fetched. Plus, all the familiar faces from the past were a bonus! Honestly, my only real complaint is that I wish they'd given Sharon a bigger role, she's hilarious. And Mark Darcy is still dreamy even if he's looking a little more distinguished now. All in all, a solid rom-com that gave me a good laugh and reminded me not to take everything so seriously. Definitely worth a watch if you're in the mood for something lighthearted and familiar. 🤠PS: anyone else think it's crazy Bridget was still getting away with half the stuff she does at work? Talk about job security!
