Finch = Surprisingly Heartwarming Robot Adventure!
Okay, so I just finished watching "Finch" (2021). I went in expecting some typical post-apocalyptic gloom and doom, but I actually got... feels? Like, actual feels! Tom Hanks is, well, Tom Hanks. Always watchable, even when he's playing a dying engineer in a radiation suit. But it's the robot, Jeff, that totally stole the show. At first, he's kinda clunky and awkward, but you see him learn and grow, and it's honestly really touching. That scene where Finch is teaching him to drive? Comedy gold! And the dog, Goodyear, is just adorable, even if he's a bit of a moody good boy. The visuals are pretty killer too. The desolate landscapes really sell the whole "world is ending" vibe. I loved the little details, like the abandoned Golden Gate Bridge. It's not groundbreaking storytelling or anything, but it's just a really well-made, heartwarming story about connection, even in the face of total devastation. I wouldn't say it's a perfect movie. Some parts felt a little slow, and the ending was pretty predictable, TBH. But honestly, I was so invested in Finch and Jeff's journey by that point that I didn't even care. It did make me cry tho. Not gonna lie. Overall, I'd def recommend giving "Finch" a watch if you're looking for something a little bit different. It's a feel-good movie disguised as a post-apocalyptic flick, and sometimes that's exactly what you need. Like, seriously, who knew I needed a robot buddy movie in my life? 8/10 for sure!
