The Batman: "I am vengeance"... but was it good vengeance?
Okay, so I just saw The Batman (I know, I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!). Overall, I dug it. The whole vibe was so gritty and noir, which is totally my jam. Pattinson actually killed it as Batman, that brooding intensity? Chef's kiss. But the movie's almost three hours long, and I gotta admit, there were moments my attention started to wander a bit, you know? Specifically, did anyone else feel like the whole Falcone subplot kinda fizzled out? Like, it was important, sure, but after all the build-up, his downfall felt...meh. Also, I'm kinda torn on Riddler. Dano was terrifying, no doubt, but sometimes his motivations felt a little all over the place. Like, he went from Zodiac killer to… some kind of unhinged streamer? I dunno, man. My biggest question, though: that final scene with Batman watching Gotham flood? He says "I am vengeance". But like, is vengeance actually helping at that point? Should he be shifting more towards hope, like Alfred was pushing? Was Alfred right, because “a day is coming when you won’t be”? What are your thoughts? Did Batman's arc stick the landing for you? Bonus points if you can quote a line from the movie to illustrate your point. I'm ready for some deep dives!
