"The Batman" and the Wayne Family Conspiracy - Hear Me Out!
Okay, so I just re-watched "The Batman" for like, the fifth time (no shame), and something keeps bugging me about the whole Wayne family reveal. Not the Martha stuff – that's pretty straightforward. It's more about… was Thomas Wayne actually trying to stop Falcone, or was he complicit in something much bigger? I know, it sounds crazy, but hear me out. Think about the scene where Alfred's recovering and they're talking about the journalist. Alfred claims Falcone had him killed because Wayne wouldn't let him get away with extortion. But Riddler clearly implies there was more going on. Maybe Falcone just… got caught skimming from something Wayne was also involved in? It would explain why the city's elite were so afraid of Falcone and why the Wayne legacy was so carefully protected. Also, the 'orphans' fund being used as a slush fund is too obvious. It's a classic misdirection. What if that was just a small part of a much larger, darker scheme? Here's where it gets really tin-foil-hatty, but what if the 'renewal' project Wayne was pushing wasn't just about fixing the city? What if it was about consolidating power for a select few, using Falcone and others as muscle? That would make the Riddler's actions even more impactful because he isn't just exposing corruption; he's potentially unraveling a deep conspiracy that goes back generations. It's a stretch for sure, but the movie keeps hinting at something more complex than simple extortion. Maybe it'll be expanded on in the sequel, but I love to think about it. What do you guys think? Am I reaching?
