Puss in Boots: Last Wish - Is Jack Horner Secretly... God?
Okay, so I just finished watching "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" and WOW. I went in expecting some cute Dreamworks fluff and came out... actually kinda mind-blown? I know, I'm late to the party, but bear with me. I'm thinking about something kinda crazy. What if Jack Horner isn't just some greedy dude, but a representation of, like, an evil God or something? Hear me out, right? The guy has an unlimited supply of magical items... why? How? And his plan isn't just to get more power, but to rewrite reality to his twisted liking if he gets the Wishing Star. That seems pretty god-like to me right there. Think about it: he collects "rare" magical artifacts, many of which have religious or historical significance (like that Holy Grail). Like a twisted collector of religious relics. Plus, he treats everyone – even his Baker's Dozen – like disposable objects. Zero empathy. Sounds like a being completely detached from humanity, right? And his motivations are never REALLY explained, are they? It's just 'he wants the power'... but WHY that deep? It feels bigger, like he feels entitled to shape everything. Maybe he did once shape everything. It's all a bit loose, but I can't shake the feeling he's less a villain and more... an antagonist to the natural order. Does that make sense? I know this is a kids' movie, and I’m probably reading way too much into this--I tend to do that--but the more I think about Horner's character, the more convinced I am that there’s something seriously weird, even sinister, going on beneath the surface. He's not just a bad guy; he's an idea of corruption of power, ya know? Anyway, def worth a watch even if you think my theory is bonkers lol. I have to say, that animated Reaper Wolf was pretty intense for a kids movie. I actually found him REALLY scary. What do you guys think? Am I totally off base here, or is there something to my wacky Jack Horner theory?
