Just saw 'The Menu' - whoa, that was...intense!

Okay, international film lovers, I just finished watching "The Menu" (2022) and I'm still processing! I went in mostly blind, just knowing it was about a fancy restaurant on a remote island. Let me tell you, it escalated QUICKLY. I'm not normally a huge horror person, but the way they built the tension was chef's kiss (pun intended, sorry!). Ralph Fiennes as Chef Slowik was absolutely chilling. He has this quiet, controlled rage that simmers under the surface... Honestly, I was more scared of him than any jump scare. Anya Taylor-Joy was also great as Margot, the unexpected guest. I really enjoyed her skepticism and how she didn't just blindly follow the foodie fanaticism. I don't want to give away too many spoilers, but the whole s'more ending? Wild. I honestly don't know if I loved it or hated it, but I definitely won't forget it. I mean, the cheeseburger moment? Classic. But also so sad and telling. It really makes you think about... umm... art? And capitalism? And what we really value vs. what we think we're supposed to value. Deep stuff disguised as a thriller, I guess! I did feel like some of the characters were a little one-dimensional, like the Wall Street bros. They were more caricatures than actual people, which made it hard to care too much when things went sideways (spoiler alert: things go sideways). But overall, I found "The Menu" to be a really thought-provoking and disturbing film. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for something a little different with a dark sense of humor, I'd recommend checking it out. What did you guys think of the ending? I'm dying to discuss!
