Jordan Peele's "Nope" - Did anyone else feel...underwhelmed?

Okay, so I finally caught 'Nope' and I gotta say, I'm a little mixed on it. As a Peele stan (huge fan of his directing style and thematic depth), I was expecting to be blown away, especially after 'Get Out' and 'Us.' Don't get me wrong, the visuals were stunning – Hoyte van Hoytema's cinematography is insane, especially those wide shots of the gulch. And the sound design? Chef's kiss. But... the story just didn't fully click for me, at least comparatively. Like, the whole Gordy's Home sequence was genuinely terrifying and brilliantly done, and I understood the connection to the dangers of spectacle and exploitation. But the alien/UFO reveal just felt kinda... sudden? Maybe I was expecting something more psychological or metaphorical, and the literal flying saucer felt a bit too straightforward for Peele, y'know? OJ and Emerald were great characters, and Daniel Kaluuya's performance was subtle and powerful as always, but was their connection to the whole spectacle thing strong enough? I'm especially curious about the symbolism of Jean Jacket itself. Is it just a monster, or is it representative of something more? I've seen some theories about it being a metaphor for fame or even Hollywood itself, consuming everything in its path, which I can get behind. What I wonder is, was the execution effective enough? Because beyond the spectacle of it all, the characters' journey felt less impactful compared to Get Out for example. So yeah, what are your thoughts? Am I missing something crucial here? I'm definitely gonna give it another watch, but I'm just curious if anyone else felt a little let down by the plot, despite the incredible visuals and sound design.
