Okay, "Nope" was WILD - Let's Discuss!
Yo, film fanatics! Just saw "Nope" and I am STILL processing. I went in pretty blind, just knowing it was Jordan Peele's new thing, and holy CRAP. The whole vibe was just... unsettling. Like, that opening scene with the chimp?! Seriously, how messed up was that? Gordy's Home is a show I will never watch, real or fake. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, thinking somethings scary was gonna happen, and then it did! I honestly thought I figured it out until I didn't. Daniel Kaluuya as OJ was so good, he just oozes this quiet intensity. Keke Palmer absolutely killed it as Emerald, bringing the energy! I really loved their dynamic as siblings, especially with the whole family ranch legacy hanging over them. The mystery of the 'thing' in the sky, and the way it was revealed slowly... brilliant. Plus, shoutout to Michael Wincott's character, Antlers. Just the right amount of quirky and unnerving. I gotta be honest, I wasn't 100% sure what to make of the ending. Like, did they really defeat it? Am I missing something super obvious? I am really curious to hear what other people thought. It was an awesome experience, but I need to unpack some things because my brain hurts a little lol. Anyone else catch any hidden meanings or interesting interpretations? Because, honestly, I feel like I'm only scratching the surface here! Hit me with your thoughts (but no spoilers for people who haven't seen it yet, please!).
