"Lightyear" - Okay, We Watched It... Here Are My Thoughts!

Okay, so we finally got around to watching "Lightyear." I know it came out a while ago, but life with the kiddos, you know how it is! We were definitely curious after all the buzz (haha, get it?). Overall, I'd say it was okay. My youngest, Leo (he's 6), was absolutely glued to the screen for a good chunk of it, especially anything with Sox the robot cat. Seriously, Sox was a total scene-stealer! I'm pretty sure 'meow' is the only word he's said since yesterday. 😅 I personally liked the time dilation concept, even though it did get a little heavy for the kids at times. The scene where Buzz keeps coming back and seeing Alisha age was genuinely impactful, even for me! I did find some of the plot points a bit predictable, though. It felt like they were trying so hard to tie it into the Toy Story universe that it maybe hindered the storyline a bit? I don't know, maybe that's just me. Zurg... well, let's just say the 'big reveal' wasn't exactly a shocker. Still, the action sequences were cool, and the visuals were fantastic – Pixar always delivers on that front. Izzy Hawthorne was a great character, too! Strong female lead, plus a really compelling backstory. My daughter, Clara (9), really latched onto her. She was running around pretending to be Izzy all afternoon. I'm just happy it's not another princess! So yeah, "Lightyear" was a fun family movie night choice. Not a complete home run, but definitely enjoyable, and more importantly, Leo wants a Sox toy, so points for that, I guess! Has anyone else watched it? What were your thoughts?
