Don't Worry Darling: All Style, Some Substance, and Those Costumes!

Okay, so I finally saw Don't Worry Darling, and honestly, I'm still a bit torn. The ending was... something. Let's just say I had a lot of questions. But wow, visually, it was STUNNING. I was totally sucked into the whole 1950s aesthetic, and the costumes were a major reason why. Like, Alice’s outfits? Chef's kiss. That housewife chic was elevated to a whole new level. The way she’s always perfectly put together, even when she's clearly losing it? Iconic. I especially loved the scene where she's making dinner and her dress is this gorgeous, vibrant blue. The color palette throughout the whole film was just incredible, and the clothes really enhanced that. Even the simple details, like the perfectly coordinated aprons and accessories, added so much to the overall vibe of Victory. They subtly reinfoce these 1950's gender roles. And the men’s suits? So sharp! Harry Styles actually looked incredible in those, which, let's be real, isn't always a given, lol. Honestly, I think the costumes outshone the plot a little bit. I was so busy admiring the outfits that I almost forgot to pay attention to what was actually happening! Almost. The story had potential, but felt like the aesthetic got more love. I won't spoil anything, but the 'twist' felt a little predictable. Overall, I’d say it's worth seeing for the visuals alone, especially if you're into retro fashion like me. Just don't go in expecting a groundbreaking thriller. Think more eye candy with a side of social commentary. What did everyone else think about the costumes? Any favorite looks? Let's discuss!!
