Okay, so...Troll on Netflix - anyone else watch this??

Okay guys, so I finally got around to watching Troll on Netflix last night! I know it came out a while ago, but things have been craaazy! Anyway, what did you all think? I went in expecting some cheesy monster movie, and while it definitely had its cheesy moments (like, REALLY cheesy dialogue sometimes), I was actually pretty entertained! The visuals were surprisingly good, especially the troll itself. It looked genuinely terrifying, especially when it was smashing through Oslo. I thought the paleontologist, Nora, was a decent lead, but I honestly found myself more invested in Andreas, the conspiracy theorist. He was a little over-the-top, but his theories were kinda interesting, and he at least seemed to care about the whole situation. The military guys were… well, they were military guys. Predictable. I did think it was cool how they incorporated Norwegian folklore and mythology into the story. The whole connection to the troll's origins and its ties to nature was a nice touch and gave it a bit more depth than I expected. One thing that bugged me though - WHY were they so convinced that blasting it with sunlight was the only way to stop it?? Like, come on, there had to be other options! It felt a little convenient, but hey, gotta have a climax, right? And that final scene with the baby troll... sequel bait much?? I'd honestly watch it, haha. Overall, I'd say it's a fun, mindless watch. Don't go in expecting a cinematic masterpiece, but if you're looking for some monster movie action with some surprisingly good visuals and a dash of Norwegian folklore, give it a shot! Let me know what you thought if you've seen it!
