Luck (2022) - Cute...but Where Are the Stunts?!

Okay, so I just watched 'Luck' on Apple TV+. Look, I'm MikeCinema, I'm all about the explosions and the big ol' practical stunts, right? This...wasn't that. It's a kids movie, I get it. And it's cute, I'll give it that. The whole concept of a Land of Luck with leprechauns and black cats running the show is kinda fun. Bob the cat (voiced by Simon Pegg) was probably the best part, he had some genuinely funny lines. But man, I kept waiting for SOMETHING. Like, at least a chase scene where they're rolling down a giant conveyor belt of lucky pennies or something! Anything! They're literally in a world MADE of luck and unluck -- how do you not use that for some crazy visual gags? There was one scene with a sort of...unlucky machine going haywire, but it was all CGI wibbly-wobbly stuff. Give me a real machine with real gears and sparks flying! I think my nephews will probably dig it, it's got a good message about friendship and being okay with being yourself, even if you're supposedly unlucky. But for an action junkie like me? It's a solid 'meh'. I'd rather rewatch the 'Rumble in the Bronx' and get my Jackie Chan fix, you know, the real stuff. Anyone else see it? What did you think? Maybe I'm just being a grumpy old man who wants everything to explode LOL. Let me know!
