"365 Days: This Day" - More Like "365 Days: Same Day, Different Outfit"? (A Theory…)

Okay, so I watched "365 Days: This Day" (don't judge me, it was for research... kinda). And look, I'm not expecting Bergman-level storytelling here, but the cinematography actually got me thinking. It felt...deliberately hollow, if that makes sense? Like, all that beautiful scenery in Sicily, the yachts, the ridiculously gorgeous people, and it's all shot so flawlessly...too flawlessly. My theory? It's intentional commentary on the superficiality of their world. Laura is essentially trapped in a gilded cage, and the cinematography reflects that. The beauty is a distraction, a way to gloss over the lack of depth in her relationship with Massimo and her own lack of agency. I think the director might be trying to say something about the emptiness of material wealth and power...or, you know, maybe I'm giving them too much credit, lol.
