Okay, I'm Officially Obsessed with Werewolf by Night (but confused?)

Okay, so I just finished watching Werewolf by Night... and wow. Just WOW. I went in expecting some cheesy monster flick, but I got something so much more emotional and visually STUNNING. The black and white really worked, it made everything feel so classic horror and it really pulled at my heart strings. I was seriously tearing up during that whole 'hunt' sequence. Like, seeing Jack suffer (even though I knew it was coming!) just broke me. Was anyone else getting serious Lon Chaney Jr. vibes from Gael Garcia Bernal? Because I totally was! But here's where I'm a little lost... Elsa Bloodstone is incredible, hands down. Badass doesn't even begin to cover it. But what's her deal with the Bloodstone? Is she like, immune to it? They never really explained that, did they? Or maybe I missed something because I was too busy being captivated by the atmosphere. And the Man-Thing cameo! Okay, that was just pure fan service and I ate it UP. Ted deserved so much better btw, I'm kinda sad he was just chilling in the background at the end. Also, sidenote: I'm kinda disturbed by how nonchalant the hunters were about killing monsters. I get they're "monsters" but they were clearly suffering?? I'm probably reading too much into it, but that scene where they electrocuted Jack... yikes. Anyway, overall I loved it! But I'm really curious if anyone else picked up on the Elsa Bloodstone/Bloodstone relationship and can explain it to me like I'm five. Help a girl out!
