Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022) - Wait, THAT was actually good?!
Okay, so I'm trying to watch all these 'classics' everyone keeps recommending, and... this one popped up? I know, I know, it's technically not THAT old, but I missed it when it came out. Honestly, the title made me roll my eyes. I was expecting some cheap cash-grab nostalgia thing. But HOLY MOLY, was I wrong! It was actually really funny and clever. Like, way more than I was prepared for. Like, did anyone else totally crack up at the Ugly Sonic cameo? That was GENIUS. I also loved all the animation styles mixed together. Super creative and it felt different, not just trying to be another soulless reboot. The whole premise of Chip and Dale having drifted apart and Dale getting CGI surgery was…darkly hilarious. I'm curious, though – did anyone else find some of the references a LITTLE too obscure? I'm still kinda confused about the whole Sweet Pete/Peter Pan thing. Was that supposed to be as messed up as it seemed? I'm seriously regretting sleeping on this when it first came out. It actually had a heart and wasn't just relying on nostalgia. Def recommend it! Has anyone seen the original show? I never did, so wondering if I'm missing any levels of appreciation here. Let me know your thoughts!
