Across the Spider-Verse: My Theory on the Spot's Powers and Dimension Hopping
Okay, so I just got out of Across the Spider-Verse and my brain is absolutely buzzing. Visually, this movie is INSANE. But beyond that, I have a theory about The Spot and how his powers actually work in relation to the multiverse. So, everyone's focusing on the Spot's holes letting him travel between universes, which is obvious. But I think it’s deeper than that. Remember that scene when he's powering up, and all those random objects are getting sucked into him? Not just objects, matter! He's basically creating mini black holes, and I think that's how he's actually manipulating dimensions. He’s gaining mass and energy from all over the multiverse. I definitely think its no accident they had him start off as a joke villain either. My theory is that the more he absorbs, the more control he gets over which dimensions he can access. That's why he initially ends up in random places, but later he starts targeting specific universes that matter to Miles. Maybe the holes aren’t just portals, but also filters. The filter lets him not only chose which universe to go to, but pull very specific things out of them to make him stronger. And maybe, hear me out, this is also why he’s so unstable. Too much multiverse energy going through one dude. It's giving me major quantum entanglement vibes. It's a bit of a crackpot theory, I know, but it feels right. The way they visualize his power, the sounds they use when he's hopping... It all suggests a level of control and manipulation beyond just simple teleportation. What do you guys think? Am I totally off base, or is there something to this?
