John Wick 4: Okay, NOW I'm obsessed. (Spoilers, duh)

Okay, I just finished my third rewatch of John Wick 4, and I think I finally understand why everyone's losing their minds over it. The first time, I was just blown away by the action (that staircase fight! Good LORD). Second time, I was trying to follow the plot, which... let's be honest, isn't exactly Shakespeare. But this time? This time I was paying attention to the details. Specifically, I'm now convinced Caine is the most tragic character in the whole Wick universe. Donnie Yen just kills it (pun intended, sorry). The little moments, like when Akira helps guide him with his cane in Osaka, or the way he hesitates before going after John in the final duel... you can see the conflict tearing him apart. And the promise he made to the Marquis about his daughter? Gut-wrenching. I'm also newly obsessed with the Marquis Vincent de Gramont - Bill Skarsgård is just so deliciously evil. The way he chews the scenery and delivers those lines is just chef's kiss. I especially loved how he orchestrated everything from a position of seemingly untouchable power, only to ultimately lose due to, well, John being John. One thing I'm still not sure about is the ending. Did John actually die? Or is it one of those ambiguous things where they left it open for a sequel (pls no, let the man rest)? I mean, Winston and the Bowery King burying him seems pretty definitive, but Baba Yaga is a mythical figure, after all. Maybe he'll pull a Gandalf and come back as John Wick the White, lol. Or maybe they bring back Keanu as a Ghost Rider-esque version, ha! Anyway, I'm off to watch it again. So good, so meticulously planned and executed, that I have to admit it. It's so much better than Chapter 3. Seriously, who thought the sword fight on horses was a good idea in Parabellum? I'm not sure about other people, but this one earned it's place on my 'rewatch forever' list.
