Okay, The Flash: Cute Nostalgia but a Little Messy?

Alright, so I finally braved The Flash and... I have thoughts. Firstly, Michael Keaton. Just, chef's kiss. Seeing him back in the cowl, delivering those dry, almost bored Batman lines? Pure joy. Like, I genuinely forgot about all the Ezra Miller stuff for a hot minute just basking in the Bat-nificance. The whole 'old, grizzled Batman trying to bake quiche' bit was peak comedy gold, IMO. But, and there's always a but, right? The CGI was...questionable at times. Like, baby Flash looked straight out of a PS2 game. And the plot, while interesting in concept (alternate timelines, Zod's back, yada yada), felt a bit crammed? They were clearly trying to shove a lot in there, and some of it didn't quite land. I kinda wish they'd focused on either the emotional stuff with Barry's mom OR the world-ending threat, instead of trying to juggle both so intensely. Supergirl was great, but it felt like she was there to solve a different movie entirely. Overall, it definitely had its moments. It was fun, nostalgic, and had some surprisingly touching scenes. But honestly, I walked away feeling like it was trying too hard to be everything to everyone. My brain's still kinda processing it all. Anyone else feel similarly? Or am I just being overly critical because I was really hoping for another rom-com and this was definitely... not that. Although, Batman baking is kinda romantic, right? I'm reaching, I know.
