Meg 2: Okay, But Hear Me Out...About That Octopus

Alright, so I just got back from Meg 2 and it was... something. Let's be real, it wasn't high art, but there were some fun moments, right? Statham punching sharks, that whole water scooter chase scene? Cool beans. But I have a THEORY, people! Hear me out! Okay, so that massive octopus. The one that goes after the subs and generally screws everything up. I think it's MORE than just a big octopus. It's got intelligence. Remember when it was messing with Meiying and how it seemed to almost play with her before getting all bitey? And the way it seemed to strategize its attacks? I'm thinking it's either some kind of super-evolved octopus, or maybe even an alien thing that crashed down in the trench ages ago and mutated the local wildlife. It's a bit out there, I know, but way more exciting than just 'another big sea monster'. Also, quick side note, did anyone else think the whole 'evil mining company' plot felt totally tacked on? Like, the sharks were way more interesting! Anyway, back to the octopus: I'm imagining a Meg 3 where they actually explore the octopus' origin. Maybe they find a whole civilization of intelligent cephalopods down there! Could be totally rad or totally ridic, but hey, that's what sequels are for, right? Let me know what you think!
