Aquaman 2: Manta's Trident - A Theory on Underwater Necromancy?
Okay, so I just saw Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and while it wasn't winning any awards for groundbreaking cinema, there's one thing that really stuck with me: the Black Trident. Black Manta wasn't just powered up, he was... something else. It wasn't just raw strength; it felt almost like he was channeling some kind of dark, underwater necromancy. Think about it: the trident was able to revive dead things, pollute the oceans in a very specific, targeted way. And Manta himself seemed way more driven and focused than just 'I want revenge.' He felt like a vessel. My theory is that the Black Trident isn't just a weapon; it's a conduit for an ancient, evil entity from the Lost Kingdom. We know the kingdom was sealed away for a reason, and the trident might've been the key to keeping whatever's down there locked up. Manta, in his blind rage and desire for power, basically became a puppet for this entity, unknowingly paving the way for its return. The whole 'unsealing' the Lost Kingdom plotline felt rushed tbh, but maybe the entity was influencing events all along, subtly guiding Manta's actions. Specifically, the way the creatures under Manta's command were animated felt... wrong. They weren't just being mind-controlled, they were being re-animated, possessed. And the way the trident corrupted the flora and fauna? Definite necromantic vibe. I'm wondering if this will be a key plot point if they do a Aquaman 3. Maybe the real threat wasn't just Manta, but the entity controlling him, and now that the Lost Kingdom's open, things are about to get really messy. What do you guys think? Am I reaching, or did anyone else get a serious supernatural vibe from Manta and that trident? Let me know!
