Ugh, Blue Beetle HIT ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS 😭 (And some thoughts obvi)

Okay, so I just saw Blue Beetle and WHEW. Where do I even start?! I went in expecting like, a fun action flick, maybe a little bit of heart, but I wasn't prepared for the FAMILY feels, you know? Like, the Reyes family dynamic was EVERYTHING. I was laughing one minute, tearing up the next. George Lopez absolutely KILLED it as Uncle Rudy, he was hilarious but with this sweet, protective side. And Adriana Barraza as Nana? ICONIC. I swear, Nana's fighting scenes were so badass, I was cheering in the theater. I've got a soft spot for badass grandma characters, I guess. LOL. But seriously, the scene where Jaime is talking to his dad (RIP) through the Scarab? I'm not crying, you're crying! It was such a beautiful moment of connection and acceptance, and Xolo Maridueña just delivered it perfectly. Like, you could FEEL his pain and his desire to live up to his dad's memory. And the way the movie explored themes of legacy and community? Honestly, it felt so raw and real, especially given all the gentrification stuff they touched on. I wish they had gotten into that stuff a bit more, maybe? Okay, so the action was cool, the Scarab suit looked amazing, and Carapax's story was actually kinda heartbreaking, but the emotional core of this movie? That's what really got to me. They really were fighting for family. Even if Jaime's mom's jokes were kinda corny sometimes. LOL But, like, did anyone else feel that way? Or am I just being a big sap? What was your FAVORITE part! I need to know! Also, does anyone think that the villain's plan was kinda... generic? I mean, it worked, but like...is that just me? Maybe I was too busy crying. I also wish that they had gotten to develop Jenny's character a bit more- like she was cool but I feel like she could have been a little more than the plot-driver female. Either way, I super enjoyed it and I can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts!
