Scream VI - NYC was cool, but did anyone else feel...off?

Okay, so I just got back from seeing Scream VI and like, overall I dug it! Ghostface in NYC? Totally fresh vibe, and the bodega chase scene? Absolutely insane. Sam and Tara are basically scream queens at this point, and I'm here for it. But something just felt...off, and I can't quite put my finger on it. Like, don't get me wrong, the kills were brutal (that ladder scene, OMG!), but I kinda missed the small-town, everyone-is-a-suspect paranoia of the original. This felt more like a straight-up slasher, which isn't bad, just different. And speaking of suspects, did anyone actually buy that Detective Bailey was a good guy for even a SECOND? I called that twist SO early. And that shrine? Creepy AF, but kinda over-the-top, right? Also, (and maybe I'm just being picky) but did the motive feel a little...weak? I mean, avenging Richie is cool and all, but it didn't have the emotional punch of, say, Billy Loomis going apeshit because his dad boned Sidney's mom. So, yeah, entertaining as hell, but I'm curious what other peeps thought. Did anyone else feel like something was missing, or am I just being a whiny Gen Z-er? Let me know!
