Cocaine Bear: So dumb it's... good?
Okay, so last night we watched Cocaine Bear. I went in expecting absolute trash, and honestly, it kinda delivered... but in a good way? Like, it's SO ridiculous that it's entertaining. The premise alone is just bonkers. I spent half the movie wondering how much of it was actually 'inspired by' a real story, lol. I think my favorite part was probably Margo Martindale's ranger character. She's always great, and her scenes with Jesse Tyler Ferguson were surprisingly funny. Also, the kid getting his hand ripped off? Yikes! I actually gasped. There were a few genuinely tense moments amidst the gore and absurdity. Was it a cinematic masterpiece? Absolutely not. Did I laugh a lot and have a fun time watching it with my friends? Definitely. A few parts dragged, and some of the side plots felt a little unnecessary, but overall, it's a solid 'turn your brain off' kinda movie. If you're looking for deep meaning or complex characters, look elsewhere. But if you want to see a bear high on cocaine tearing people apart in increasingly creative ways, this is your film. So, yeah, would I recommend it? Depends. If you like schlocky horror-comedies, go for it. Just don't expect anything profound. 7/10 for pure, unadulterated ridiculousness. What did you guys think?
