Okay, 'Saw X' Actually Kinda Messed Me Up??

Alright, so I just got back from seeing 'Saw X,' and I'm not gonna lie, it was... intense. I usually go to these movies for the gore and the crazy traps (don't judge!), but this one actually had me feeling a little sympathetic for John Kramer. I mean, yeah, he's still a psychopath, but seeing him get scammed like that made me kinda root for him to unleash hell on those fake doctors, which is weird, right? That trap with the eyeballs… okay, I had to look away. Seriously, props to the effects team; that was disgusting but totally believable. And the scene where they were all strapped into those machines in the abandoned factory? The tension was insane! I was literally gripping my seat. Paris being involved threw me off, though. Like, why did they trust her so easily from the start? It seemed kinda out of character for John. I guess he was just really desperate for a miracle, which brings me to my actual question... So, did anyone else feel a little conflicted watching this one? Like, you know John's a terrible person, but you also kinda wanted him to get his revenge? Also, am I crazy for thinking Cecilia was one of the more evil villians throughout the series? She gave me the creeps. I'm curious to know what everyone else thought. Was it too gruesome even for a 'Saw' movie, or was it just the right amount of messed up?
