"Operation Fortune": Is it just me, or was Aubrey Plaza the ONLY reason to watch?
Okay, so I finally got around to watching "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre." I feel like I’m the only one who wasn’t totally blown away? The whole movie felt kinda…meh. The plot was predictable, the action was alright, but nothing really stuck with me. I mean, yeah, Jason Statham does his usual Statham thing, kicking butt and looking grumpy. Fine. But did anyone else feel like it was missing some kinda spice? Like, it was trying too hard to be clever but ended up being kinda bland? Honestly, the ONLY thing that kept me even remotely interested was Aubrey Plaza. Seriously, she was hilarious! Every scene she was in, I was actually paying attention and cracking up. I was surprised at how good she was in an action comedy. Like, her deadpan delivery and just general sassiness completely saved the movie for me! So I think Ritchie, if he directed, he did at least one thing right. But back to the bigger picture...anyone else wish the movie leaned harder into the comedy aspect? I feel like it was trying to balance action and humor, but it didn't quite nail either. The villain felt underdeveloped, the stakes felt kinda low, and the whole thing just felt…forgettable. Did I miss something? Am I the only one who feels this way? So basically, my question is this: did anyone actually enjoy the rest of the movie, or were you all just there for Aubrey Plaza being amazing like I was? And if you did like it, what am I missing? Maybe I need to give it another watch...but I'm not really feeling it lol.
