Expend4bles: Okay, Who Actually Enjoyed This One?

Alright, so I just got back from seeing Expend4bles and...wow. I'm trying to be positive, but honestly, I'm struggling. Like, I went in expecting cheesy action and explosions, which I’m usually down for. But this just felt...flat? I guess that’s what you get trying to revive a franchise past its prime, but still. I'm a character person, y'all know that. And even for a movie supposedly about tough guys, there was zero depth! Statham was doing his usual thing, which is fine, but even he seemed bored? And Megan Fox...honestly, I kept waiting for her to get a real character arc, but it never happened. They just threw her in to be the token woman who can 'hang with the guys' but give her like, two dimensions total. I mean, was I the only one hoping for some actual interplay with Statham besides the bickering? They clearly tried to give it a romantic tinge but it just felt so hollow. My big question is: did anyone actually connect with any of the new characters? Like, I barely remember their names, let alone their motivations? I just feel like there's a world where this could've been a fun, mindless action flick, but it ended up just being a tedious exercise in nostalgia. What, if anything, did you guys like about it because I'm seriously missing it? Maybe my expectations were too high, but help this girl out lol
