Okay, I ADORED Mutant Mayhem (and maybe have a new crush?)
Alright horror hounds (and shellheads?), JessicaMovieNerd here, back from seeing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and I gotta say, I was SO pleasantly surprised. I went in expecting a fun, maybe kinda dumb kids' movie, but I walked out genuinely loving it. The animation style is freakin' gorgeous, like a comic book come to life with all these amazing textures and little imperfections. It's so unique and energetic, seriously, go see it for the visuals alone. But it's not just pretty! The story is surprisingly heartfelt. I mean, these are teenage turtles wanting to belong! The voice acting is perfect, especially Ayo Edebiri as April. She's hilarious and awkward in the best way. And Splinter! Jackie Chan? Genius casting. He brings a real warmth and humor to the role. Honestly, I even kinda have a cartoon crush on Michelangelo? His goofy optimism is just infectious. And the needle drops? chef's kiss. 90s/early 2000s hip hop was the perfect choice. Okay, if I had ONE small complaint, it's that maybe the villain(s) felt a little underdeveloped? Like, Shredder's teased and I'm SO ready to see him in a sequel. But honestly, the Turtles themselves are so compelling that it didn't bother me that much. The fight scenes were creative and fast-paced. I think I actually yelled out 'Cowabunga!' at one point β I couldn't help myself! Overall, Mutant Mayhem is a total blast. Itβs got heart, humor, killer visuals, and a whole lot of mutant teenage angst. Go see it, even if you think you're 'too old' for TMNT. You might just find your new favorite animated movie. ππ’ #TMNT #MutantMayhem #MovieReview #JessicaMovieNerd #Cowabunga
