Nowhere - Okay, I've got THOUGHTS (and questions!)
Okay, so I just finished my third watch of "Nowhere," and I'm still reeling. Seriously, Ana de Armas absolutely KILLS it. The sheer physical and emotional toll that role must have taken...wow. But I'm still stuck on a few details. Like, how did she manage to build that makeshift raft thing with practically nothing but what was in the container? I know adrenaline is a hell of a drug, but come on! And speaking of the container's contents - I swear the amount of bottled water fluctuated. One scene it looks almost empty, then bam, suddenly a new stash? Continuity error?? Or am I just losing it? I'm also lowkey obsessed with the baby, Noa. Like, how did she stay so darn quiet during the shark attack?! Babies are usually, you know, LOUD. Though props to Mia for being so resourceful with keeping her alive. The scene with the makeshift diaper... genius, even if it made me cringe a little. Honestly, what got me the most was the ending. Like, okay, she sees land. Great! But... we don't SEE her get rescued. We don't know what happens after. Is she going to be okay? Is Noa? Does anyone even find them?! Maybe I'm just a sucker for closure, but that ambiguity is driving me nuts. Someone tell me I'm not alone in wanting a sequel (or at least an epilogue!). Overall, though, it's a really intense and gripping survival story. Definitely worth a watch if you can handle some seriously stressful moments. It's not perfect, but Ana de Armas' performance and the sheer desperation of the situation make it stick with you. Plus, the constant fear of what's lurking under the water... shudders Okay, I'm gonna go watch something lighthearted now. Maybe a cartoon.
