Okay, "Red, White & Royal Blue" - Hear Me Out...

Alright everyone, just saw "Red, White & Royal Blue" and need to discuss! I went in pretty skeptical, but I actually found myself charmed? Like, yes, it's pure rom-com fluff, but Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez have insane chemistry. I'm a character person, so I was less invested in the plot (which felt kinda predictable) and more into watching Alex and Henry actually connect. Especially that scene in the library when Henry finally opens up about the pressure he's under. I got chills! Galitzine really nails that whole repressed royal thing. And Perez does a good job of showing Alex's vulnerability beneath the cocky exterior. I think the movie really shines in those intimate moments. But does anyone else wish we got more of a glimpse into Henry's internal struggles with being closeted? They skimmed over it a bit, and I feel like exploring that further would have added some real depth. Like, was it a conscious choice to focus more on the romance angle than the heavier societal issues? I'm not sure if that ultimately helped or hindered the film, honestly. So, my question is: did anyone else wish they delved deeper into the challenges Henry faced, or do you think the lighter, romance-focused approach was the right call for this particular movie? Let me know your thoughts! I am dying to know.
