Dogman: OMG, Luc Besson Still Has It!
Okay, so I just got back from seeing Dogman and I'm still kinda processing. Dude, it's intense! The premise sounded kinda weird, right? Like, a guy who communicates with dogs as his only family? But trust me, Caleb Landry Jones freaking kills it as Douglas. He's so broken, so vulnerable, but also has this insane strength because of his bond with his dogs. Honestly, my heart broke for him like, every other scene. What really got me was the way Besson showed their connection. It's not just, "oh, he loves dogs." It's like they're a pack, a unit. The scene where they're all coordinated for the "jobs" he does… like, WOW. Super creative and cinematic. I was on the edge of my seat! And the dogs themselves are amazing actors, lol. I'm not even kidding. You really believe they understand him. I won't spoil anything, but the ending is a bit of a mind trip. Definitely not your typical happy ending, but it strangely feels right for Douglas. It's bleak, yeah, but there's also this thread of hope woven through it all. I'm still debating with myself whether I completely loved it, but it's definitely stuck with me, you know? It's not some fluffy feel-good movie. It's kinda brutal, and raw, but also really beautiful in its own twisted way. So yeah, definitely go see it! Just be prepared for some dark stuff. I'm curious to hear what everyone else thinks. Did anyone else get chills during that one scene where [removed for possible spoiler]? Let's discuss!!!!
