Godzilla x Kong: Okay, That Was Wild (But Fun!)
Okay guys, so we just got back from seeing Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire... and WOAH. Anyone else feel like they just watched a giant monster fever dream? Honestly, trying to explain the plot to little Timmy afterwards was… an experience. He mostly just cared about Kong getting a mini-Kong sidekick, which, fair. That Suko was pretty darn cute for a giant ape. I appreciated the human characters actually having something to do this time, especially the one with the hearing aid, she was smart and involved. But let's be real, we’re all there for the monster fights, right? The visuals were INSANE! Seriously, the Hollow Earth is even crazier than I imagined. The new villain, Skar King, was actually pretty intimidating. And Godzilla's new pink form? Okay, that was a choice, but I kinda liked it. It definitely made him stand out! The whole final battle was just pure chaos, in the best possible way. Like, I was genuinely yelling at the screen at one point. Poor Kong looked like he was having a rough time of it for a while there, glad he pulled through. The pacing was a little off in the middle, felt a bit too long setting up, but it definitely ramped up in the third act. My biggest issue honestly? Some of the science was just... baffling. I know it's a monster movie, but still! And maybe fewer shots of people reacting in horror (we get it, giant monsters are scary!). But overall, it was a really enjoyable movie. It’s not going to win any awards for deep storytelling, but if you want to see giant monsters smashing things and occasionally helping each other out... this is your movie. Timmy gave it two thumbs up, and honestly, I'm giving it a solid 7/10. Anyone else seen it yet? What did you think? And did anyone else think Godzilla looked kinda...fluffy? Or was that just me?
