Godzilla x Kong: Okay, That Was Actually Pretty Rad

Alright, so I just got out of 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' and honestly? I went in with pretty low expectations. Like, another monster mash? Okay, cool. But yo, it actually delivered on the dumb fun! First off, Kong getting a little mini-me? Scaredy Kong? I was dying! The whole Hollow Earth stuff is still kinda goofy, but they leaned into the absurdity and it totally worked for me. The action sequences were insane – especially the gravity shenanigans with Kong. Seeing Godzilla powered up with that pink spine glow was just... chef's kiss. I will say, the human characters were kinda... there. Like, I barely registered their existence, which, let's be real, is usually the case in these movies anyway. But honestly, I wasn't there for Millie Bobby Brown drama, I was there to see giant monsters duke it out. And oh boy, did they deliver! I also thought that ape dude (the big bad) was a little uninspired, but honestly, who cares? I was too busy cheering for monke to notice. The new Kong suit is fire, like seriously a HUGE improvement compared to the last movie! Plus, the nods to earlier Godzilla movies are so well done! And for sure, some of the CGI looked a little wonky in places, but I honestly forgave it because the overall spectacle was just so damn entertaining. They got the fights down this time for sure. And the kid from the last movie is back but with a new hairdo, still not sure what is up with her story arc. Is that what the kids wanna see? Overall, if you're looking for a deep, thought-provoking cinematic experience... maybe skip this one LOL. But if you want to turn your brain off and watch giant creatures beat the crap out of each other in stunning visual glory? Then, yeah, def recommend checking out 'Godzilla x Kong'! I give it like a solid 7/10, maybe even an 8 just for the sheer chaotic energy of it all.
