OMG, Alien: Romulus Messed Me Up (In a Good Way?)

Okay, so I just got back from seeing Alien: Romulus and I am… a mess. Like, a genuine, trembling mess. You guys know I'm a sucker for anything Alien, but this one hit different. They really leaned into the claustrophobia, didn't they? That whole scene where they're crawling through those air ducts, knowing something's hunting them... I swear, my palms were sweating so bad I thought I was going to slip out of my seat! What I really loved was how vulnerable the characters felt. These weren't hardened space marines, they were kids basically, trying to survive in a situation way beyond their control. The scene where that poor girl (I think her name was Kerry?) gets facehugged... I literally gasped out loud. And the Xenomorph itself? They didn't overdo it with the CGI, which I appreciated. It felt raw and terrifying, like something truly alien and unknowable. There were a few moments I felt like were predictable but I was so in the moment I barely noticed. Honestly, this one is probably going to stay with me for a while. It's not just the scares (and trust me, there are plenty), but it's the underlying sense of dread and hopelessness they managed to create. Ugh, I need a hug and maybe a lifetime supply of flamethrowers. Seriously, go see it... if you dare! And tell me what you thought – I NEED to process this with someone! PS - who was your fave character?? I'm torn.
