Alien: Romulus - Is This a Return to Form? SO Hyped!
Okay, so I'm officially counting down the days until Alien: Romulus drops. The whole 'young scavengers in a derelict station' setup feels like a perfect throwback to the original's claustrophobic, blue-collar horror, right? Honestly, I've been kinda disappointed with some of the later Alien installments; they lost that raw, terrifying simplicity. Ridley Scott's prequels were visually stunning, sure, but they felt… too big? Too philosophical? I missed just being scared shitless by a xenomorph in a tight corridor, LOL. This feels like it could bring that back. I'm really hoping the director leans into the practical effects like they did in the first one. The CGI in Prometheus and Covenant, while impressive, just didn't have the same visceral impact. I need to feel the slime, the teeth, the dread. Also, anyone else wondering how they'll handle the 'young colonizers' angle? Are we talking teenagers? Early 20s? The dynamic between them could really make or break the tension. Specifically, do you guys think they'll try anything new with the Xenomorph lifecycle? Or are we gonna stick to the facehugger-chestburster-adult formula? Not that there's anything wrong with that classic formula, but I'm just curious! What are you most excited (or worried) about with Romulus? Let's discuss! I NEED to fuel my obsession somehow until August!
