Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes: Pacing issues or am I just impatient?

Okay, so I just got out of "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," and I'm… conflicted. Visually, it's stunning. The ape effects are incredible, and the world-building is really compelling. But I'm struggling with the pacing. It felt like a long movie that maybe didn't need to be? Specifically, that whole first act – the eagle training, the fishing village stuff – felt REALLY drawn out. I get that they were establishing Noa and his clan, showing their peaceful existence, but did we need that much of it? I found myself wanting to get to the conflict with Proximus Caesar way faster. The whole Proximus Caesar character was really cool, by the way. He's a great villain, totally menacing, and I loved the warped interpretation of Caesar's teachings. Shame it took so long for that to take off. And then, honestly, the journey to get Mae felt long too. Was it just me? I'm wondering if maybe they could've shaved some of that down and tightened up the narrative a bit. I'm not saying it's bad – there were moments I REALLY enjoyed (the observatory scene was awesome!), but the overall structure felt like it needed a little more… editing, lol. Anyone else feel the same way, or am I just being overly critical of the pacing here?
