Road House (2024): Gyllenhaal SMASHED it... but did it need to be SO CGI'd?

Okay, peeps, just got back from seeing the new Road House! Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton? Freaking AMAZING. Seriously, he was ripped, the fight choreography was brutal, and he had that whole 'calm but deadly' thing down PERFECTLY. Like, I was genuinely invested, which I honestly wasn't expecting after seeing the trailer. But... and this is a BIG but... the CGI, man. Like, sometimes it was just so obvious. Anyone else notice that one fight scene on the boat? Looked straight out of a video game. And the crocodiles? I know it's the freaking Florida Keys, but come on! It kinda took me out of the movie, you know? Like, did they really need to amp it up so much? The original was cheesy, but had a certain realness to it. I'm wondering if a little less CGI and a little more practical effects would have made it a total knockout. Also, Conor McGregor was... himself, lol. I wasn't sure what to expect, but he fully committed to being a chaotic psycho, which, fair play. But I still think Gyllenhaal carried the whole movie. So, my question is this: Did the over-the-top CGI bother anyone else as much as it bothered me? Or am I just being a grumpy millennial complaining about technology again? Hit me with your thoughts!
