"Madame Web" - Spider-Verse Seed or Just...Webbed Up?

Okay, so I just saw "Madame Web" and I gotta say, I'm still processing. Definitely a different vibe from the usual Marvel fare, right? I went in expecting a grounded superhero origin story, and got...something else entirely. Seeing Cassie's powers develop was actually pretty cool, especially how they showed her premonitions. It was disorienting, like she was actually experiencing time differently, which I liked. But the whole 'three girls destined for greatness' thing felt a little rushed, ya know? Like, we didn't get enough time to actually connect with them before they were thrown into this crazy survival mode. Here's my theory, though: I think this movie is secretly setting up something BIGGER for the Spider-Verse. Hear me out! The constant talk about destiny, the almost mystical nature of Cassie's powers, it all feels like they're laying the foundation for a multiversal connection. Remember that scene when Cassie touches the graffiti of the Spider-Man logo? And how she almost recognized it? I think those girls might be connected to different versions of Spider-Woman, or even be destined to become different Spider-Women in alternate realities. Maybe that's why Ezekiel Sims was so obsessed with killing them – he saw a threat to his universe. I know a lot of people are saying the CGI was a little rough, and the villain wasn't super compelling (admittedly, Ezekiel Sims could have used some work). But I think the potential is there. If they lean into the mystical side of things, and really explore the multiverse connections hinted at, "Madame Web" could be a key piece of the puzzle. It's just...not completely realized yet. They also needed to explore the dynamic of the three girls a little more. I think my daughter even pointed out some continuity issues, but honestly it was enjoyable! I'm curious to see if they pick up on any of these threads in future movies, or if this is just a one-off. What does everyone else think? Am I totally off base, or is there something more to this web of destiny?
