Okay, let's talk Madame Web...

So, I just saw Madame Web, and honestly? I'm still processing. I went in with, like, zero expectations after everything I'd heard, and maybe that helped? It wasn't amazing, but it definitely wasn't the train wreck some people are making it out to be. Dakota Johnson really committed, and I actually enjoyed her take on Cassandra Webb. She made the character feel very real and vulnerable, despite the whole seeing-the-future thing. The awkwardness was charming, and I think that's what pulled me in. I actually enjoyed when she was trying to control her new abilities, and the scenes where she gets headaches were hilarious. The three young women were cast great, and I loved seeing them become who they were. I especially loved the girl who was gonna be Spider-Woman. When she got her powers and had to learn how to use them, it was awesome. The villain was fine, I didn't really care about him to be honest, since he was just out there to destroy these girls. It definitely had some pacing issues, and the CGI wasn't the best (that Pepsi scene, lol!), but overall, I was entertained. I think what stuck with me most was the focus on Cassandra's growth and her relationship with the girls. It felt a lot more character-driven than your typical superhero flick, which I appreciated. It was nice to see her learning how to care for these girls. It wasn't a groundbreaking superhero movie by any means, but it wasn't the disaster some are making it out to be. Ultimately, I think if you go in with low expectations and focus on the characters, you might actually enjoy it! Let me know what you guys thought!
