Kraven the Hunter: Animalistic Edge or Fashion Faux Pas?

Okay, so I just saw Kraven the Hunter. Woah. Definitely not your typical superhero flick, that's for sure. The whole vibe was super gritty and brutal, which, honestly, I wasn't totally prepared for. But let's talk costumes (or lack thereof, ahem!). Obviously, Kraven ends up ditching the shirt pretty quickly, but even the earlier stuff, like when he's a kid, felt really deliberate. The sort of worn-out, almost feral look definitely feeds into his whole backstory and his relationship with his dad. Speaking of Nikolai, Gorman's performance was intense, and his bespoke suiting? Impeccable. Classic gangster with a dark edge – the costuming really nailed that. And when Sergei gets his tats and becomes Kraven? It's all about the raw physicality. I like that they didn't try to overcomplicate it with a ton of tech or armor like some other comic book adaptations do. I'm a little torn about the whole 'animalistic powers' thing. It's definitely a different take, more primal energy. I guess as long as the clothes don't upstage the story, I'm good. The leather pants though? Not my thing, lol. Did anyone else think they were a bit too tight? I swear, I found myself worrying if he could even move properly while fighting. 😂 Overall, visually, it was interesting. I'm curious to see where they take the character from here. Definitely not something I'd wear myself, but the costuming does a good job of reflecting the narrative and the brutality of Kraven's world. I just hope they let him find some decent tailoring in the sequel, that's all I'm saying!
