Okay, 'Abigail' Was WAY More Fun Than I Expected!
Alright, so I went into 'Abigail' kinda blind, just saw the trailer and figured it'd be a decent popcorn flick. And honestly? It totally delivered! The whole kidnapping-gone-wrong premise was classic, but the little twist with Abigail not being just some rich kid was actually kinda awesome. Like, the slow realization on the kidnappers' faces was priceless. Joey was probably my fave character, always cracking jokes even when things got seriously bloody, lol. And the ballet dancer vampire thing? I was skeptical at first, but it worked! The fight choreography mixed with the ballet moves was surprisingly cool. There's this one scene where she's basically dancing around killing dudes and it's genuinely disturbing yet strangely beautiful, if that makes sense? The special effects were pretty good too, though there's this one scene with a particularly messy bite that looked a little too CGI-ed for my liking, but hey, no movie's perfect. Look, it's not winning any awards, and the plot has a few moments where you have to just suspend disbelief, but overall, 'Abigail' was a blast. It's gory, it's funny, and it's got a pretty unique spin on the vampire genre. If you're looking for a fun, over-the-top horror movie to watch with friends, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a shot. Just don't eat anything while you're watching it... unless you really like fake blood! Anyone else see it? What did you think? Especially curious what others thought of the ending - felt a little rushed but I'm wondering if they're setting up a sequel?
