Transformers One: Is This Gonna Be Our 'Cybertronian Godfather'?
Alright, fellow Gen Xers, Moviebuff_Marc here. So, "Transformers One"...the origin story. I gotta admit, I'm cautiously optimistic. We've seen the Michael Bay explosions and Shia screaming, but a deep dive into Optimus and Megatron's pre-war bromance? That could be either brilliant or a total trainwreck, right? Think about it – a Shakespearean tragedy but with giant robots. I'm kinda hoping for a 'Cybertronian Godfather' vibe, you know? A story of brotherhood, betrayal, and the slow descent into madness (Megatron, obviously). I'm really curious about how they're going to handle the core turning point. Was it inevitable, or was there a specific event that truly broke them? The trailers show some cool action sequences, but I'm really hoping it's NOT just robots smashing each other for two hours. I want character development, I want motivation, I want to UNDERSTAND why these two bots went from brothers to mortal enemies. Give me some moral ambiguity, some genuine pathos. Is that too much to ask for in a cartoon about transforming cars and trucks? And speaking of character development... I'm wondering what kind of roles will be there for Elita-1, Sentinel Prime, and ESPECIALLY Alpha Trion. Trion was always kind of a mysterious guy in the G1 cartoon, the wise old mentor. He needs to have some serious weight in this prequel. I need to believe he knew was was happening, that he was watching the decline of their friendship, and couldn't do anything about it. Is he a flawed character, or a true saint of Cybertron? So, what are your hopes (and fears) for "Transformers One"? Anyone else secretly hoping it'll be the animated movie event of the decade? Or are we all just bracing for more Bay-style chaos with slightly better graphics? Let's hear it!
