Land of Bad: Liam Hemsworth Does More Than Just Look Pretty (Finally!)

Okay, so I just saw 'Land of Bad' and honestly? Way better than I expected. I went in kinda skeptical 'cause, let's be real, Liam Hemsworth's acting chops have been… questionable in the past. But this movie? He actually brought it! The plot's pretty straightforward – extract gone wrong, gotta get the guys out – but the tension was real. I was seriously gripping my seat during the whole second half. Plus, seeing Russel Crowe as Reaper, the drone pilot, yelling into a headset while trying to save the day was surprisingly gripping. The back-and-forth banter between him and Kinney (Hemsworth) was actually pretty funny and helped break up the intensity of the action. Speaking of action, there's a LOT of it. It's not all just mindless shooting either; there's some decent strategy involved, which I appreciated. One scene that really sticks out is when Kinney's pinned down and Reaper's trying to guide him through this crazy firefight – I was completely on the edge of my seat! Honestly, I was kinda rolling my eyes at the start, thinking it'd be another generic action flick. I kept expecting it to be predictable, but there were a couple of legit surprises that got me (no spoilers!). It ain't winning any Oscars, let's be clear. The dialogue gets a bit cheesy in places, and the villians are pretty much cardboard cutouts. I also felt like the director could have spent a little more time developing the Delta Force team members. Apart from Kinney, they felt kinda expendable if you know what I mean. But overall, it was a genuinely fun, action-packed ride. If you're looking for a good time at the movies and don't mind a bit of cheesy action hero stuff, I'd say give 'Land of Bad' a shot. Hemsworth definitely surprised me, and the action sequences are worth the price of admission. I reckon I'd give it a solid 7/10. It's a good one to switch your brain off for a bit and not think too hard lol.
