Okay, hear me out: The Crow (2024) is a PREQUEL?
Alright fam, just got outta seeing the new Crow flick and I'm buzzing with thoughts. First off, Bill Skarsgård SLAYS. Seriously, Eric Draven is supposed to be brooding and tortured, and he nails it. But I have a WHACK theory brewing... what if this isn't just a reboot, but a prequel? Think about it: They keep the whole "demons from Shelly's past" thing vague, right? And Eric's vengeance is super focused on those specific guys. What if he cleans them up, finishes his mission, and THEN something ELSE happens? Like, maybe a bigger, badder evil comes into play. Maybe that's what leads to the events of the original Crow. It would explain why this version feels a bit more contained, more street-level, if you catch my drift. Plus, the ending... it felt kinda open-ended, like setting something up, ya know? Specifically, the scene where he spares that one dude, the one who seemed REALLY regretful? That's TOTALLY a setup for a later redemption arc. And what if that arc involves an even greater threat that Eric has to face? I'm just saying, the filmmakers are smart, they know the OG Crow is untouchable (in a good way, obviously!), but a prequel could be a cool way to expand the lore without stepping on toes. I know, I know, it's a stretch. But wouldn't it be wild? I'm already picturing a sequel where Eric, now even more seasoned, has to team up with that repentant bad guy to fight something truly terrifying. Let me know what you guys think. Am I totally off my rocker, or is there something to this?
