Kinds of Kindness - So... what was that?

Okay, so I just got out of 'Kinds of Kindness' and I'm… processing. Like, seriously processing. I went in expecting something weird, because, you know, Yorgos Lanthimos. But this was next level. Three stories, same actors playing wildly different roles, and a whole lot of unsettling vibes. Jesse Plemons, man. The first segment, where he's basically a puppet to Willem Dafoe's character, was just… painful to watch. The way he just robotically followed orders, even when they were completely absurd. And Emma Stone? She's consistently amazing. Her performance in the second story, where she's the returned wife... unsettling is an understatement. The scene where she's eating ice cream like a monster? Chilling. But honestly, I'm not sure if I liked it-liked it. Visually, it's stunning. The color palette is so stark, and the cinematography is incredibly deliberate. And the performances are all top-notch. But the actual stories themselves felt a bit… disjointed? Like puzzle pieces that ALMOST fit but are just slightly off. And the ending? Don't even get me started. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be ambiguous or just plain confusing. I keep thinking about the theme of control, or lack thereof. All the characters seem to be struggling with it in one way or another. Like, is it worth sacrificing everything for a sense of agency, even if that agency is rooted in madness? That's definitely something I'm still chewing on. The dance scene at the end was so bizarre, and honestly, it kind of made me laugh after all the tension beforehand. A weird, dark laugh, though lol. Anyway, I'm curious to hear what everyone else thought. Did anyone actually 'get' it? Or are we all just collectively scratching our heads? Maybe it's one of those movies that gets better with multiple viewings? I don't know if my brain can handle another dose that soon though...
