Just Watched "Don't Move" - Pretty Intense!

Okay, so just finished watching "Don't Move" (2024). Didn't know anything about it going in, just saw it pop up on my streaming service. The premise is pretty simple: woman in the woods, psycho injects her with something that paralyzes her, and she has to survive. It's as claustrophobic and stressful as it sounds. The pacing is relentless – felt like I barely had time to breathe! I kept thinking about that scene in Kill Bill (spoiler!) where Uma Thurman is buried alive, but this is way more slow-burn and, frankly, kinda crueler. I'm not sure who the director is, or if it even matters? The film really hinges on the lead actress's performance. She's basically acting with only her face for most of the movie! And she nails it. You really feel her terror and frustration as she's losing control of her body. There's a few moments where I was literally yelling at the screen, "MOVE! JUST MOVE!" even though, logically, I knew she couldn't, LOL. The killer is creepy too, but in a realistically unsettling way. Not some over-the-top slasher villain, just a dude who's clearly messed up and enjoying this way too much. The ending... well, I won't spoil it. Let's just say it's not sunshine and rainbows. I feel like it could have gone either way, and the choice they made was... interesting. I'm still processing it, honestly. I think some people will hate it, some will love it. It's definitely not a feel-good movie, but if you're looking for something tense and suspenseful, it's worth checking out. Just maybe don't watch it alone in the dark... like I did. Oops. One minor gripe - the paralytic drug seemed a bit too convenient, like it just happened to follow the plot perfectly. But, hey, it's a movie. I'm probably overthinking it. Overall, a solid late-night watch. 7/10 would probably recommend, begrudgingly, because it's kinda messed me up a little. Haha. Now, where's the ice cream...?
