"Watcher in the Woods" - Still creepy after all these years! Anyone else remember being scared of this as a kid?

Okay, so I just re-watched "The Watcher in the Woods" (1980) with the kiddos (my oldest is finally brave enough!) and wow, it still holds up! For those who don't know, it's about this American family who moves to the English countryside and weird stuff starts happening to the younger daughter, Jan. Turns out, the house has a dark secret involving the owner's daughter who disappeared ages ago. What I wanted to ask was: Did anyone else find the blindfolded game scene SUPER unsettling? Even now, the way those kids are chanting and the whole atmosphere... shivers. Also, Bette Davis is just iconic in this movie, isn't she? She's got that perfect blend of stern and vulnerable. I think the fact that it was a Disney movie made it even creepier, because you expected sunshine and rainbows, not potentially deadly supernatural entities! LOL. My youngest got a little spooked at the end when Jan figures out what happened to the missing girl (that whole reflection thing, yikes!), but overall they seemed to enjoy it. I think it's a good intro to slightly spooky stuff without being overly graphic or anything. Am I the only one who thinks the ending is kind of... abrupt, though? Like they ran out of budget or something? I've heard there were alternate endings, has anyone seen them, and are they better? Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else had fond memories of being terrified by this movie as a kid (or if you've subjected your own kids to it yet haha!). Let me know your thoughts!
