Okay, Octopussy? More Like Octo-Messy-But-Still-Fun!
Alright y'all, I just finished watching Octopussy and…whew. I have feelings. On the one hand, it's Roger Moore being Roger Moore, right? All those eyebrow wiggles and cheesy one-liners. I can't help but love it, even when I KNOW it's ridiculous. That scene where he's dressed as a clown? Oh honey, I laughed so hard I almost cried. It's just so…out there! And the tarzan yell? Why?! I had to pause and collect myself lol. But then, on the other hand, it's also…a bit much. The whole Octopussy cult thing felt a little…I don't know…exploitative maybe? And the villain, Kamal Khan? So bland! Honestly, I was way more invested in Octopussy herself (Maud Adams is stunning, by the way). She had such a fascinating backstory and that fortress was awesome. I really wish they'd given her more to do, and maybe toned down some of the more, uh, questionable elements of the plot. The fight on the plane wing was pretty cool though, ngl. I get why some people hate it, I really do. It's definitely not the most serious Bond film. But sometimes, you just need a bit of ridiculous, over-the-top action and Roger Moore's goofy charm. It's a fun watch if you don't take it too seriously but some parts haven't aged well. What did you guys think? Am I crazy for kind of enjoying this chaotic movie?
