Fantozzi Still Suffers: So bad it's hilarious (and kinda ingenious?)

Okay, so I just finished watching "Fantozzi Still Suffers." Wow. I knew it was gonna be…something, but man, the sheer absurdity. I mean, the plot is simple, right? Fantozzi has a bad day, goes on a terrible vacation, comes home to more badness. But it's the way they execute it that's just...chef's kiss of terrible genius. Specifically, the scene at the condominium board meeting where they're all arguing about the color of the stairs and Fantozzi keeps getting interrupted? Sound design gold. The overlapping dialogue, the exaggerated sound effects of chairs scraping, it all builds to this cacophony of frustration that perfectly encapsulates Fantozzi's plight. And let's not forget that cringy 'holiday' bit with the family. The way he has to be all grateful for a pile of garbage... it's brutal. I wish I knew who did the foley work, because they should get a medal for capturing the specific sounds of misery. The visual effects are straight out of a bad dream. It's so on the nose, but somehow it works. I'm not saying it's a great movie in the traditional sense, but damn, it's memorable. And honestly, the low-budget aesthetic adds to the charm. It's like they leaned into the cheapness and made it part of the joke. I'm definitely gonna be thinking about this one for a while, and maybe recommending it to friends who appreciate a good dose of dark, Italian humor. Have any of you guys seen it? What did you think of the special effects and that amazing yelling from Fantozzi?
