Okay, hear me out: Nancy's the REAL Dream Warrior in Elm Street '84

Hey everyone! PriyaWatches here. So, I was rewatching A Nightmare on Elm Street (the OG, obviously!) and something struck me. We always talk about Freddy being this unstoppable force, but what if Nancy is actually way more powerful than we give her credit for? I mean, think about it. She's not just surviving Freddy, she's learning to fight back in her dreams. She pulls him into the real world, for crying out loud! That's not just dumb luck, that's a conscious effort to understand and control her own dreamscape. My theory is that Nancy's latent psychic abilities are what attract Freddy in the first place. He senses this power and sees her as a challenge, not just an easy victim. And that whole ending where everything seems "normal" again, but the car is still Freddy Krueger themed? I don't think that's just a cheap jump scare. It suggests that Nancy hasn't fully defeated him she's maybe suppressed him, or even absorbed some of his power? The adults in the film are useless, but Nancy does the best she can! I know some people might see the ending as a cop-out but for me it proves that his powers are linked to Nancy, which is why he comes back. And think about the details: she's the one figuring out the dream logic, the one coming up with the plan to pull him out. Even her little traps and booby traps in her house are super clever, like she has been waiting for this moment her entire life. The fact that we see her change from a scared teen to a calculating fighter is what makes her the best final girls. The effects are dated but the concept of facing your fears in the dreamworld is truly amazing. I'd love to hear what you all think! Am I reading too much into it, or is Nancy secretly the most powerful character in the whole franchise? Maybe its just the fact that shes got the best 80s hair! Let me know your thoughts!
