Karate Kid? More Like Cobra Kai Nightmare Fuel!

Okay, so hear me out. I know, I KNOW. "The Karate Kid" (the OG, obvi) isn't technically horror, but am I the only one who finds Cobra Kai genuinely terrifying? Like, those guys are seriously messed up! I'm rewatching it and, yeah, it's inspiring and all that jazz with Mr. Miyagi's wisdom and Daniel's training montage (wax on, wax off FOREVER!), but the Cobra Kai dojo gives me serious cult vibes. Specifically, the whole 'no mercy' thing is just freaking disturbing. Kreese is a total psychopath, right? I mean, promoting violence and aggression like that, especially to teenagers, is a recipe for disaster. And the scene at the tournament where Johnny is told to sweep the leg...chills! Actual chills! It's basically a slasher movie waiting to happen. I'm not saying Daniel wasn't a bit annoying at times, but he definitely didn't deserve that level of intense, almost predatory bullying. And let's be real, if Cobra Kai existed in real life, it would be the training ground for future serial killers. Anyone else kinda feel this way? Or am I watching too many horror movies and reading too much into a feel-good 80s flick? I want to know if i'm tripping or if other people see it the same way. Side note: the scene when they corner Daniel on halloween! I would have literally peed my pants. and also... what even happened to Ali?! They just broke up and she was GONE.
